Rooms and areas can be deleted in model views like floor plans and ceiling plans. Revit warns us that they have been deleted from the model but they are still listed in schedules. Wall Floor Interaction and Linked Models. To really delete them we have to open a schedule view and delete them there. Seek and Ye May Still Not Find.

Always Be Phase Aware In every project file your modeled components have a phase created and a phase demolished parameter whether you like it or not. If you place a model component in a view that is set to the New Construction phase (under View Properties), that component automatically gets placed in the New Construction phase.

You just linked a developed Revit model into a new project file and you cant seem to find it. If I just imported a project and I cant seem to locate the imported model the first thing I do is setup my radar. Open each view individually and zoom all (ZA) until you find the model you are looking for. When do I need it?

Lets say you have a project with worksets enabled and the whole model is on Workset 1 by default. No one else is going to be able to edit ANY modeled elements that are on that workset. or do a save to central and relenquish user-created worksets so other users can work on the model too. in 2002 and am currently a member of AUGI.

These divisions, while relevant to the architectural model, are ruining the possibilities of creating gbXML files without extensive work on the part of the engineer to remove the room separation lines, and then repair the damage done to the room names and numbers. Joe - in the examples he offered it isn't "poor" modeling.

Once an as-built model is done you might want to archive a copy of the model just incase the design scope changes and you have to start all over again with a clean as-built. The model builder is going to have to do partial demolition of walls, floors, roofs, ceilings, etc.

They recently announced that theyre offering a software solution to bring 3D as-built models of pipes and other cylindrical MEP elements directly into Revit. Autodesk Vasari Beta 1 is a slimmed down version of Revit 2013 focusing on conceptual modeling and early analysis. Detailed BIM modeling tools have been removed. I have read that in Vasari, one can edit a model in perspective view. It is meant for architectural designers and energy analysis who are not necessarily using Revit.

Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? It is more suited to a model that is about graphics.

like the change is some new data for the model. I upgraded a model once, from Revit 2009 to Revit 2011, and an odd thing happened. This can reset data in the model. in 2002 and am currently a member of AUGI. Im not talking about changing a value and then hitting the undo command. Let me give you some examples.
