The essence of my response via email: HVAC Zones are meant to combine spaces into larger more coherent collections for engineering purposes. As per IS:1893-2002 earthquake code India is classified into a different zone for which it specifies the seismic zone factor and it is very important to analyze & design the building for a seismic force to prevent damages occur due to earthquake. The floating column is designed as a regular column.
