The chamber led Opportunity Austin, a five-year effort launched in 2004 to promote investment resulting in job creation. The Port currently has service by two Class I railroads, Norfolk Southern and CSX—both offer double-stack service to critical manufacturing and population centers. Its aim was to create 72,000 regional jobs.
