These divisions, while relevant to the architectural model, are ruining the possibilities of creating gbXML files without extensive work on the part of the engineer to remove the room separation lines, and then repair the damage done to the room names and numbers. When Revit Systems was released in 2006, the essence of Autodesks marketing commentary was, "this is new software so it probably doesnt make sense to tackle a project with it unless the architecture team is using Revit too." We dont have to assume the burden of modelling the architecture or structure to get something out of the effort.

It is meant for architectural designers and energy analysis who are not necessarily using Revit. Detailed BIM modeling tools have been removed. I have read that in Vasari, one can edit a model in perspective view.
