The Energy Efficiency Improvement Act of 2015 , S. 535, a portion of this bill was formerly known as the Better Buildings Act of 2015, passed the House of Representatives last week and on April 23rd was presented to the President for signature.

For purposes of this blog post highlighting the significant changes in the 2018 IgCC, that new code will be contrasted with the 2012 IgCC and not the 2015 version, which last version we are only aware a single jurisdiction has adopted. Jurisdictions will be better served adopting the 2015 version of the IgCC, the last consensus based version.
