On September 28, 2016, the County Executive of Montgomery County, Maryland submitted Executive Regulation 21-15, which adopts the International Green Construction Code 2012, to the County Council. If the Council does not approve or disapprove the proposed IgCC within 60 days after receiving it, the green code is automatically approved.

The European Union has gone in another direction with the 2016 General Data Protection Regulation , applicable as of May 2018, updating and modernizing the principles enshrined in the 1995 Data Protection Directive which guarantee individual privacy rights in one’s personal data including “the right to be forgotten.”

However, as I wrote in this blog on July 24, 2016, HUD Jumpstarted Financing For Homes , reversing their previous position and now widely allowing residential PACE loans on top of FHA and VA loans (but still not on top of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loans). Draft new and improved attorney prepared loan documents that work to ‘sell’ PACE.

All California employers should be reminded of Labor Code section 2810.3 , which went into effect on January 1, 2016. Employers should ensure that workers provided by staffing firms are paid correctly and covered by workers’ compensation insurance, and should also carefully examine and draft indemnification agreements with staffing firms.

Next month, the center will conduct its 2016 “winter peak” measurement, which represents the maximum ice coverage at the coldest time of the year. The protocol was immediately endorsed by Guggenheim Partners, which helped to draft it. We can safely predict that this year’s number will be lower than last year’s.
