Asks Gergely, who I presume to be a ‘model purist’.and This little-battle is between Archicad and me – I repeatedly ignore the creators’ hints to use the product in-a-certain-way and force it ‘kicking and screaming’ to perform tasks I dream-up. and good on him for standing up for something as noble as that.

I started learning technical drafting on my father’s drawing machine, the type with two rulers fixed at right angle to each other but adjustable to any angle through a button. (he Ten years ago I amazed the local Archicad supplier by a colourful CV fully prepared on Plotmaker. Photoshop to make textures for my BIM models.

We should've stuck with pen & paper until a tool like Revit or Archicad or Tri-Forma came along. At least when we were drafting on paper (or whatever) a person really thought about what it was they were going to represent when that line was drawn, because no one wanted to redraw.

At present, the NBS National BIM Library objects are classified using both the draft Uniclass 2 Work result code and the System name to give a deeper link between the object and specification. All BIM objects have properties, and most also have geometries (although some do not, for example a paint finish).

I get regular updates through my FB page on how the big event of The Hong Kong Institute of Building Information Modelling (HKIBIM) planned for the 13 th of December is shaping up. 3/ information management tool providers (unlike in manual drafting days) got given an unprecedented opening to influence a globally active industry.
