It''s been 14 years since Revit formally began knocking on the doors of architectural firms. The first response quite often was, "We''ve already got {insert your software here}, no thanks"! Which was then followed by "Oh gosh, you mean it doesn''t do "X" just like {insert your software here}? Other responses were, "Really?

We used to complain that CAD drawings looked horrible and now that concept has nearly been forgotten. I used to spend (not hours, not days) weeks fighting wall cleanups in Revit and our designs changed so frequently we needed a quick and clean way to get complete drawings. Other BIM Software. We decided that we also wanted to be able to sort the sheets in our project browser (and our drawing lists) by Submittal Package. and check the category Drawing Sheets. Drawing List. Leave the name Drawing List. The Drawing List on our coversheet shows ALL the drawings from ALL the different packages.

This workaround involves drawing a repeating detail line (with imported text) on top of a simple detail line. Now draw a detail line in any view of your project. you can draw a simple building and link in a simple building (by shared coordinates) and move these two icons around a bit (clipped and unclipped) to see how the two models react or. The office I worked for didnt use Revit for developing working drawings but I do remember wishing that I could add text to linestyles (for phone, elec, gas, etc) and I remember having trouble understanding phases but I got a lot of help from users on Zoogdesign (now AUGI). To add to the complexity, the as-built drawings we had on file were not accurate to the true construction of the existing structure because the original architect had improvised the design during construction.
