Have you ever plotted and found something like the image below where an architectural object is some how thinking it is more important the your MEP object? Put those pesky architectural objects in there place quickly by making them transparent in Visibility Graphics.

I have noticed that when I get architectural models with excessive grouping that they bog down my MEP models. I try to keep the my linked architectural model as clean as possible and one thing that seem to help is breaking up groups. Open the architectural model and expand groups in the project browser. So straight out of the Help file, here are things to consider about h ow Revit Architecture and Revit MEP Share Information w hen you link a Revit Architecture project to a Revit MEP project. I often redefine some architectural families to be 2D in my model to keep the model size down and lessen interference issues. He told me that if you place all the families you need in a single project and group them, you cam insert that group into the architectural file and ungroup it there, bringing all the families in at once.
