ArchiCAD just sounds like a snobbier (or more obscure) version of AutoCAD. But while I’m happy to drive a second-hand Jap-car to roll into work, I hate waiting for a Joe-average model to even open on my computer when using Revit. Revit is better, even if people often mispronounce it. Hell, even Vectorworks rolls better of the tongue.

Here's a few things that have come up lately regarding importing dwg data: Revit imports from Model Space unless there is nothing in Model Space. Revit only recognizes the World Coordinate System (WCS) Revit doesn't "see" AutoCAD points, doesn't snap to them, you'll see them but can't "use" them.

I try to keep the my linked architectural model as clean as possible and one thing that seem to help is breaking up groups. Open the architectural model and expand groups in the project browser.
