Quite often we need to organize our plots for different submittal package sets (Schematic Design Presentation, Land Use Permit, Plan Check, Construction Admin, etc). We decided that we also wanted to be able to sort the sheets in our project browser (and our drawing lists) by Submittal Package. and check the category Drawing Sheets.

We used to complain that CAD drawings looked horrible and now that concept has nearly been forgotten. I used to spend (not hours, not days) weeks fighting wall cleanups in Revit and our designs changed so frequently we needed a quick and clean way to get complete drawings. We design traditional, high-end residential work.

The task was to demolish a 1980s addition, restoring the building to its original design, and then adding our own additions. To add to the complexity, the as-built drawings we had on file were not accurate to the true construction of the existing structure because the original architect had improvised the design during construction.

This workaround involves drawing a repeating detail line (with imported text) on top of a simple detail line. Now draw a detail line in any view of your project. Draw your repeating detail over your new detail line as though tracing the detail line. We design traditional, high-end residential work. Design Reform.

If you are drawing a wall or a line there is a pallet of line shapes that you can draw (square, polygon, circle, arc, etc.) For Walls Height/Facade, you may use "Edit Profile" to make certain design. We design traditional, high-end residential work. Design Reform. USG Design Studio. Newer Post.
