OSH Review Commission makes important machine guarding ruling

In a significant ruling, the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission has tossed out a machine guarding citation issued by OSHA to an energy company. The rule is proposed to be effective 60 days after Federal Register publication. EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy is quoted as saying the new rule will expand the scope of waters of the United States by “only about 3%” but that 3% represents millions of acres that are not today regulated.

Finding your center isn’t about Yoga. Whether you want to hang a chandelier or start laying carpet tiles you’ll want to start in the middle of the room. If you start with a square or rectangular room, you could find the center by placing two Diameter measurements and rotate one 90 degrees to see where the diameters cross. This method won’t work though if you have a an arch on one side of the area, like in this hotel foyer (above).

Sunbelt Rentals Posts 25% Gain in Fiscal 2015

Sunbelt Rentals posted $2,742.3 million in revenue for its 2015 fiscal year, compared to $2,188.5 million in fiscal 2014, a 25.3-percent increase. Sunbelt’s parent company Ashtead, fiscal 2015 revenue totaled £2,039 million (about U.S. $3.19 billion), compared to £1,635 million a year ago, a 24.7-percent hike.
