Construction Begins on Nevada Cancer Institute

The Korte Company

The Nevada Cancer Institute in partnership with American Nevada Corporation has selected The Korte Company to design and build their new administrative offices and accompanying parking garage. The completely finished building will be approximately 102,000 square feet on three floors with a five story parking garage. The total project valued at $31 million is located at the 215 Beltway and Town Center Drive in Summerlin and will take one year to build.

No Plot Layers in Revit

In AutoCAD based products you have the ability to see things that won't plot through the use of No-Plot layers. Revit doesn't have this capability. In the MEP world it is imperative that you have the ability to see the other disciplines without plotting them. One way to handle the situation is to create separate view templates for modeling and for plotting.

2D CAD sucks

I've recently been forced to work on an Autocad project out of neccessity (lack of staff). I have to say that after spending 12 hours attempting to somehow remeber what I'm doing in Autocad, it just plain sucks. I really truly beleive that moving to a non object based Computer Tool like 2D CAD was one of the worst things our industry ever did. We should've stuck with pen & paper until a tool like Revit or Archicad or Tri-Forma came along.
