I have noticed that when I get architectural models with excessive grouping that they bog down my MEP models. I try to keep the my linked architectural model as clean as possible and one thing that seem to help is breaking up groups. A few weeks ago we noticed that we had a linked architectural model with named and numbered rooms. I wanted to use phones and web browsers to acquire and sort BIM data directly from Revit models. I would like mechanical/plumbing in Revit MEP to have the same connection philosophy as Revit Structure using and analytical models. Just like a structural model, the beams and columns do not have to be connected to run structural analisys.
