I have noticed that when I get architectural models with excessive grouping that they bog down my MEP models. I try to keep the my linked architectural model as clean as possible and one thing that seem to help is breaking up groups. Open the architectural model and expand groups in the project browser. I wanted to use phones and web browsers to acquire and sort BIM data directly from Revit models. I would like mechanical/plumbing in Revit MEP to have the same connection philosophy as Revit Structure using and analytical models. Just like a structural model, the beams and columns do not have to be connected to run structural analisys.

Currently the room tags are reading information from the room object in the linked architectural model and I link that view. The space object in the MEP model linkst to the room object in the architectural model. The space object will read the room information from the room object and can be tagged by view in the MEP model.
