Always Be Phase Aware In every project file your modeled components have a phase created and a phase demolished parameter whether you like it or not. We have one model that was started in Revit before we knew any of the limitations of Revit. The model is not clean enough to develop construction documents so we have passed along that task to another architect. Some food for thought: Could it (read that as "it will") be better to let the walls be modeled as they will be built (with dead spaces in between), rather than using in-place walls that simply mimic old methodologies, like CAD or Hand drawn lines filled with poche or hatching? If you want to do cost estimating outside of Revit you might try exporting the Revit model as an ODBC and importing the database into Timberline. We often have split level projects and weve had a lot of trouble isolating the stem walls and footings from the rest of the model for use in a foundation plan. It occured to me that I never once posted pictures of any project I worked on, so here are two images from a model I built back in Revit 4.5. When you model your geometry give it a material called "Variable" or some other material name that is not used in your project file. Is there any way one can have a material that shows in a view an not in other. Lets say a box that in 3d is orange, in elevation is orange and in plan is white ? David Duarte.
