The application of zoning laws, many of which date to the 1920s are bringing alternative energy projects to a halt in 2014. By letter dated August 3, 2012, petitioner advised the Town that it was “considering use of alternate turbine models” for the project. Historic zoning laws need to be brought into the contemporary era.

In all mainstream BIM strategies, FM models sit at the end of the chain of Ds – numbered from the 6 th D onwards, following the 3 spatial Ds, cost and time. Waste of modelling efforts’ is a major ‘thing’ among those that know little of the realities of BIMming but are deeply invested into it.

The ordinance is modeled after similar laws enacted in the California municipalities of Lancaster, Sebastopol, and Santa Monica, and the City of San Francisco. The ordinance is likely to pass given that at its July 12 meeting the second reader version of this ordinance passed with a 4 to 1 vote. The ordinance is here.
